Get involved

We welcome volunteers to come down and help out every Wednesday 10-4pm. We’ll be there rain or shine and always have a range of jobs to suit ability and preferences.  Free feel to come down for a chat and a look around with no commitment to stay.  You can drop in for an hour or stay all day whatever fits round your life or energy levels. We’ve always got the kettle on and stop for tea breaks at 11 and 3 and and have lunch at 1. There’s always bread, houmous, salad and biscuits here if you’d like to share lunch with us.

We especially welcome volunteers with mental or physical ill-health and people with learning difficulties and will do everything we can to make sure you can enjoy the garden and get some work done. If you have complex needs and have support workers please bring them along with you at least on your first visit so we can talk about how you can best access the garden.  We are a new project and happy to invest in the tools that make it possible for people with bad backs, weak grips etc to get busy growing veg!  We are a supportive space and people find the garden very beneficial to their mental well being but be aware we only have one member of staff and they are not a healthcare professional.

We also hold community events and workshops If you’d like to find out more, have any questions or would like to be put on the mailing list please email Lucy Mitchell at: ghcgarden@gmail.com or call on: 07506 905 3904
